Name something you can nurture, that nurtures you right back.  Have a guess?  Here's a clue, it's springtime ... yep, that's right, flowers!  In Feng Shui, spring is thought of as the time for new growth and a spirit of optimism.  Here's your chance to Feng Shui your garden and allow the beautiful scents and colors to give you your own springtime treat. Some flowers are best placed in a specific location in your garden so before you head to your local nursery, consider some of these flowers and their symbolism:

Thinking of your relationships?  Try these blossoms:

Pomegranate
- Fertility Red
Peony - Feminine beauty and wealth. In red, it is lucky for families with daughters who are looking for a partner. Plant it in the southwest corner to attract relationship, marriage, or romance luck in the home.

Looking for Riches?  Try these buds.

Narcissus  -symbolizes great  fortune. Do not choose the dwarf varieties which are not auspicious.
Hibiscus - Abundance
Magnolia - In white is a symbol of purity. A single magnolia tree planted in the front garden is said to attract great contentment. Grown in the back garden, it symbolizes hidden jewels or the gradual accumulation of wealth.

Looking for peace, for goodness sake?  Try these blooms:

Chrysanthemum - In yellow,  is associated with a life of ease.
Lotus -  Inspires peace and contentment, and symbolizes the opening of opportunities. The lotus blossom is also associated with the Buddha offers a growth of spiritual consciousness.

How about overall success?  Try these flowers:

Hydrangea - Achievement
Plum blossom - Good fortune, longevity, purity and is noted for its delightful fragrance. Plant in the north.

How about some great Feng Shui for your outside to match the inside of your home?  Try these petals:

Lily - The aristocrat of bulbs. With a wonderful scent and a glorious appearance, in full bloom the lily represents good Feng Shui throughout the year.
Begonias - Perfect Yin/Yang Balance

Whether you plant a few or a huge bouquet, allow these beauties to delight your senses and bring you the nurturing peace with each and every petal you see.
